Art Deco Jean Honoré Fragonard painter nude woman medal Lucien Georges Bazor. This medal is an original, period medal, and not a restrike. He was born in Paris in 1889 and first studied with his father, Albert Bazor. Bazor later became a student of Patey at the National School of Fine Arts. He won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1923 for his engraving. Bazor is best known for his design of the 5 francs 1933 coin, known at the time as "Bedoucette" (named after the contemporary Finance Minister), now known as "Bazor". This small copper-nickel coin was generally rejected by the French public as too far from the previous large silver coins. It was quickly replaced by the Lavrillier 5 francs, much larger and twice as heavy.

The latter did not circulate as most of the produced copies were lost due to Allied bombings. Free shipping for all purchases over 150 euros, regardless of quantity and weight. Condition: Good condition, but with scratches see photos.
