Born on November 25, 1892 in Paris 5th arrondissement. Died on December 13, 1957 in Neuilly-sur-Seine. Madeleine is the daughter of Louis Pierre Jeannest and Jeanne Legrand, residing at 18 rue d'Orléans in Neuilly-sur-Seine. On January 21, 1931, she married the painter Georges Gimel in Le Vésinet. The witnesses of the marriage were the French pianist Emma Boynet and the artist Albert Chartier, a painter and sculptor.

She resided at 16 avenue du Grand-Veneur, Le Vésinet, before moving to Megève. On August 6, 1930, Madeleine gave birth to a daughter Françoise Gimel in Le Vésinet. Madeleine created watercolors and gouaches for the monthly magazine Le Jardin des Modes, La Gazette du Bon Ton, as well as for the famous couturiers Jean Patou and Paul Poiret during the Roaring Twenties in Paris. She also worked for different haute couture houses: Maison Premet, Max furs, etc... She is the sister of Marthe Jeannest, also a fashion illustrator.
