Selling beautiful Art Deco era sculpture from 1925 by René-André VARNIER - Signed in the metal, depicting an elegant woman with short hair, surrounded by two Barzoïs greyhounds. Superb polychrome patina, very shiny gilding, and the dress has geometric motifs similar to damascening. The subjects are made of Art cast iron (a superior variety of spelter) - the dogs, with a dark patina, appear to be made of bronze. It sits on a splendid base of Portor and green Onyx marble, geometric, original, with pure and modernist lines. René-André VARNIER: late 19th-early 20th century.

Active sculptor during the Art Deco years. Made statues and automobile mascots in spelter, bronze. Exhibited, among others, at the Salon des Beaux-Arts in 1923 and at the Salon des Art Deco in 1925. Dimensions: Length 59 cm - Height: 31 cm - Depth: 17 cm.
